Se quattro mura bastano a creare un’abitazione, ci vuole molta più fatica perché questa diventi una casa. Lo sappiamo bene noi di C14, che ci siamo trovati davanti alla sfida di ristrutturare un grande spazio ex industriale a Milano. Un ambiente ampio e arioso, ricco di fascino e tutto da inventare: siamo partiti dai materiali, che abbiamo immaginato come un link tra il passato e il presente di quei luoghi. Ferro crudo, quindi, che rimanda alla vocazione industriale. Mattone, scabro e denso di storia. Legni pregiati con un sapore antico. E il calore della resina, stesa in pennellate ricche e materiche.
Abbiamo cercato di creare una modernità capace di ricordare, citandolo, il proprio passato: ed ecco i soppalchi, le vetrate riquadrate in ferro, i portelloni che scorrono su binari a vista. Ma ecco anche l’attenzione alla luce, capace di disegnare ogni angolo tratteggiandone l’eleganza dei contorni.
Una casa, senza dubbio. Accogliente, viva, piena di stile. Colorata e ricca di una personalità che integra il contesto senza stravolgerlo.

Four walls might be enough to create a dwelling, but it takes a lot more effort to turn it into a home. Here at C14 we know this all too well, we were faced with the challenge of renovating a large-scale industrial space in Milan. The space is open and airy, full of charm, a blank slate: we started with the materials, and we imagined a link between the past and present of those places. So, raw iron, so as to reference its industrial origins. Brick – rough and dense with history. Premium-quality wood with an antique vibe. And the warmth of resin, applied with rich, textured brushstrokes.
We tried to create a sort of modernity which could reference and evoke its own past: so, we created mezzanine floors, windows with iron frames, sliding doors on exposed tracks. But we also focused on light, every corner is elegantly highlighted.
It is, without a doubt, a house. Welcoming, full of life and style. Bursting with colour, and its character fits into the context without upsetting the balance.
